Let Freedom Ring

Special Independence Day message - In the US, we have freedoms like no other country has in history. Some of these have gave us liberty, while others cause bondage as well as blindness to the truth. What is that truth? That we are to fight the good fight - fight for truth. When we do so, the truth of Jesus will shine forth, and others can find the same liberty that believers in Christ enjoy every day.

    Like A Child

In Mark chapter 9, Jesus uses children as an example to teach a lesson. This lesson, can be easily applied to those of us in today's world. We must be watchful of what we do, where we go, and what we see. When we watch our actions, we ensure that the children around us do not follow in our bad decisions. How to we do that? Jesus explains to us that we are to have salt in ourselves, and have peace with one another.

In Luke chapter 8, we read about a man named Jairus, and how he faces the nightmare that parents fear the most - a death of a child. This father, willing to do anything for his child, comes to Jesus begging for help; and with three powerful words, Jesus steps into the life of this family - "Little girl, arise."

    Generousness - Luke 12

Generousness is defined as "the quality or state of being generous". In Luke 12, we read of a man who has a problem in common with his brother over their inheritance. Keeping true to His method of teaching, Jesus uses this opportunity, not to scold the man for his greed, but as a chance for Him to teach us all a lesson about greed through the parable of the rich fool.

    keep on knocking

Asking, seeking, knocking: in Luke 11 Jesus unfolds the model prayer to His disciples, as well as some reasoning behind why they are to pray in this certain way. Jesus links this to one of the most important passages in the whole Bible, and to a lesson that will encourage you to "Keep On Knocking".

Join us as we welcome Brother Jim back to the pulpit in this lesson from the eleventh chapter of Luke, in this last Sunday's lesson - "Keep On Knocking".

    Lovingness Luke 10, 25-37

In Luke 10, we watch as a lawyer poses the question to Jesus: "What shall I do to inherit eternal life?" Jesus, who knows what the lawyer's intent is, turns the question's answer into the perfect teaching opportunity. With patience, Jesus presents the lawyer with the well-known parable of the Good Samaritan - a lesson that we can apply to our lives today and a lesson that will have you asking, "who is my neighbor?"

Sinners - we have many names for them, but to the world, they have been deemed "unclean". In Luke 7, we read about Jesus, Simon the Pharisee, and a sinful woman, and how it wasn't about her sin, but about her love. And through the parable of the money lender, Jesus teaches us a lesson that we all need spoken into our life.

A Lesson About Receiving the Word
    Series: Parables
    Receiving the Word
In Luke 8, Jesus teaches us from the "Parable of the Sower". Sometimes the Word is sown on rocky ground, other times on ground overrun with thorns. There are times however, the Word takes root in fertile ground. Is your ground rocky or maybe laden with thorns? Or is it fertile soil, prepped for God's Word to spring forth like a seedling does in Spring?
